Period: January – December 2025

Locations: Munich, Frankfurt, Stuttgart

For us, sustainability is not an extra. It is both our fundamental attitude and our driving force. As a company that creates space for creativity, humanity, and collaboration, we bear responsibility. For our team, our customers, and our partners, but also for the way we do business, shape the future, and enable it together.

Our corporate culture is based on four values: bellezza, collaboration, success, and commitment. These values shape not only our daily work, but also our approach to sustainability. We value aesthetics and attention to detail. This also applies to our sustainable interior design. We promote collaboration, which is only possible with a clear commitment to a better future. We strive for excellent results without wasting resources. And we are passionately committed to our team, our customers, and our planet. We firmly believe that truly sustainable change begins where people come together and act collectively.

With this report, we want to openly show how we understand sustainability at OutOfOffice, where we are already making progress, and where there is still potential. Our goal: to be a place that inspires, connects, and takes responsibility.

About OutOfOffice: Space for effective collaboration

OutOfOffice is more than just a venue. We create creative spaces in the heart of the city. Places that encourage openness, promote a change of perspective, and enable genuine exchange. Whether for workshops, team offsites, conferences, creative formats, customer events, or celebrations, our spaces are designed for teams who want to make a difference together.

We rent out extraordinary, fully equipped locations in Munich, Frankfurt, and Stuttgart that can be used individually and flexibly designed. We primarily cater to business customers (B2B) – companies, agencies, start-ups, or institutions – who are looking for inspiring spaces for meetings, team events, or innovation formats. But private customers (B2C) also get their money's worth with us, e.g., for birthdays or weddings with urban charm.

What makes us special?
Our spaces are never neutral. Each location has its own soul and tells its own story, tailored to the character of the neighborhood:

  • the creative studio in the heart of Munich's Glockenbach district,
  • the surfer's paradise on Munich's Eisbach,
  • the green oasis in Frankfurt's Westend,
  • the urban workshop in Frankfurt Sachsenhausen,
  • and the light-flooded studio with rooftop in the heart of Stuttgart.

Our target group isn't just looking for a space. They're looking for impact. And this is exactly where we create the framework for sustainable collaboration:

  • Our spaces break down mental barriers: no rigid seating arrangements, no formal settings. Instead: mobile furniture, creative tools, breakout spots, places of retreat.
  • All locations have roof terraces with panoramic views: a change of perspective that literally opens up the horizon.
  • Natural light, high ceilings, open spaces: these are factors that have been proven to increase cognitive performance and reduce stress.
  • Our room concepts promote participation, openness, and equality. Important pillars for sustainable collaboration.

We are convinced that spaces have an effect. They influence how we think, feel, and work together. That's why we design our locations to promote innovation, creativity, and sustainability.

Our sustainability strategy: spaces that carry responsibility

Our vision is clear: we create spaces for humanity, creativity, and sustainable coexistence. This attitude is not a marketing promise. It is the foundation of our daily work.

As a platform for encounters, exchange, and innovation, we see it as our responsibility to consciously shape the conditions for this. OutOfOffice stands for openness, connection, and inspiration. These values are also at the heart of our sustainability strategy.

Our sustainability work is based on three strategic priorities:

1. Environment & climate: Responsibility begins in everyday life

We want to keep our ecological footprint as small as possible, and where we cannot avoid it, we consistently offset it. We have been a climate-neutral company since 2021 and are continuously working to reduce our emissions.

To this end, we focus on:

  • 100% green electricity in all locations
  • Sustainable room design, durable furniture, and modular furnishings
  • Waste avoidance and clearly structured separation systems
  • Sustainable mobility, for example through central locations and public transport connections
  • Cooperation with the non-profit organization OlivaMi for CO₂ compensation through reforestation

We don't see environmental protection as a sacrifice, but as an opportunity to shape our decisions, our processes, and our offerings for customers.

2. Social responsibility: Cooperation as a principle

For us, sustainability is inextricably linked to humanity. We believe in a working environment where people feel comfortable, can contribute, and are allowed to develop their potential, whether as customers, employees, or partners.

That's why we focus on:

  • A diverse, open team that builds on trust instead of control
  • Flexible working models and a consciously human approach to working together
  • Fair partnerships with service providers and suppliers
  • Promoting creativity, personal responsibility, and equality

Our locations are also places for social discourse, culture, and encounters, and we design them in such a way that everyone feels welcome.

3. Sustainable partnerships & events: multiplying impact

Our customers have a lot of leverage, because every event can be made (more) sustainable. We want to be more than just a location provider; we want to be a source of inspiration.

That's why:

  • We actively advise on sustainable event formats
  • We work with regional caterers and service providers who share our values
  • We provide materials and equipment that conserve resources
  • We offer workshops and activities that not only connect people, but also give meaning

At OutOfOffice, sustainability should be tangible, practical, meaningful, and inspiring. For companies that want to take action, not just talk.

Measures implemented in 2025

2025 was a year of concrete progress for OutOfOffice, with measurable successes, new partnerships, and bold decisions. Our goal remains the same: to bring sustainability from concept to everyday life. Not as an add-on, but as a natural part of our work.

Here we show you transparently what we have already been able to implement in the past year in the areas of environment & climate, sustainable events, and social engagement.

1. Environment & climate

Our environmental strategy aims to actively reduce emissions and responsibly offset unavoidable CO₂ emissions. In 2025, we were able to consistently improve our carbon footprint:

Green electricity at our OutOfOffice Glockenbachviertel location
  • CO₂ balance 2025: Events and operations emitted around 50 tons of CO₂.
  • Offsetting: We have fully offset these emissions by planting 50 certified trees as part of our OlivaMi partner project in Italy.
  • Concrete reduction measures:
    • Use of 100% green electricity at all locations
    • Waste separation systems at all locations
    • Avoidance of single-use plastics at internal and external events
    • Regional catering options as standard

These measures not only help us to reduce emissions. They also raise awareness among our teams and customers for climate-conscious behavior in the context of events.

2. Sustainable events

As a provider of creative venues, we see it as our responsibility to actively facilitate sustainable events and inspire our customers to do the same.

What we have implemented in 2025:

  • Local caterers & short supply chains: Our catering partners are based in the respective region and primarily offer seasonal and vegetarian menus.
  • Sustainable equipment: We provide materials such as whiteboards, digital tools, and resource-saving presentation materials.
  • Tips for sustainable planning: We actively support our customers with suggestions such as:
    • Avoiding printed materials
    • Using public transport instead of cars
    • Choosing sustainably produced giveaways
    • Taking surplus catering home in takeaway boxes

Sustainability thus becomes a natural part of event planning, without sacrifice, but with impact.

3. Social & Culture

Our work culture:

  • Diversity & equality: We promote diversity, regardless of origin, gender, age, or lifestyle.
  • Flexible working models: Part-time models, remote work, and family-friendly structures are part of our everyday life.
  • Team commitment & development:
    • The company actively supports further training.
    • Team members with special roles:
      • Our managing director in Frankfurt completed her training certificate a few years ago.
      • In Munich and Stuttgart, we supervise dual students who can gain practical experience in our company alongside their studies.

Commitment beyond our own company:
We do not see our responsibility ending at the office door. Our partnership with the non-profit organization OlivaMi not only enables CO₂ compensation, but also promotes a project with a genuine social and ecological impact.

Impact & Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Transparency is important to us because we can only improve in a targeted manner if we measure our performance. That is why we document our CO₂ emissions annually and make our progress visible.

In 2025, we generated a total of 50 tons of CO₂, mainly through events at our five OutOfOffice locations. These emissions were fully offset through our partnership with OlivaMi.

A look at the past few years shows that our measures are working.

CO2 emissions OutOfOffice: Development 2021-2025

Reduction since 2021: -10.1 tons of CO₂

Thanks to measures such as switching to 100% green electricity, regional catering, sustainable materials, and consciously avoiding single-use plastics, we have been able to reduce our emissions in a targeted manner without compromising on the experience, comfort, or quality of our events.

Goals & Outlook for 2026

After 2025, one thing is clear to us: sustainability is not a project with an end date, but rather a continuous process that we are actively developing. Our vision of creating spaces for humanity, creativity, and sustainable coexistence is the compass for all our next steps.

We have set clear priorities for 2026:

1. Continue partnership with OlivaMi

We will continue to rely on our close cooperation with OlivaMi to offset unavoidable emissions in a transparent and responsible manner. The reforestation project will remain a central component of our climate strategy in 2026, with the goal of planting trees for every ton of CO₂ emitted each year.

2. Further reduce catering waste

Food waste can be avoided with forward planning and communication based on partnership.

That is why we want to:

  • Better tailor portion sizes to group sizes
  • Actively advise customers on menu selection to avoid overproduction

3. Prioritize energy efficiency when purchasing new equipment

When equipment at our locations is replaced or added to, the following now applies: Energy efficiency is mandatory.

Specifically, this means:

  • Selecting dishwashers, coffee machines, kettles, and screens with top energy labels.
  • Taking standby power consumption into account.
  • Regular maintenance to minimize energy loss.

4. Sustainable workshop materials

From 2026, we want to pay even closer attention to ecological standards when procuring workshop materials. The aim is to use only products that:

  • are made from recycled materials
  • are certified with the “Blue Angel” eco-label or equivalent

These include, among others:

  • Post-its & sticky notes
  • Flipchart pads
  • Markers & pens

5. Further raising awareness among our customers

Sustainability starts small and thrives through participation. That's why we want to focus more on knowledge transfer and practical support in 2026:

  • Checklists for sustainable event planning
  • Consultations for booking inquiries
  • Information notices at our locations, e.g., on waste separation, water consumption, and energy saving
  • Inspiration from best practices from sustainable events that have already been implemented

Our goals for 2026 are practical, impact-oriented, and based on real everyday work. We believe that if sustainability is easily accessible, it will become a natural part of collaboration and thus lead to real change.

About OlivaMi & our cooperation

For us, sustainability does not end at the doors of our locations. It extends far beyond that. That is why we are particularly pleased about our close partnership with OlivaMi, a regional, non-profit project that connects us deeply, not only emotionally but also ideologically.

In 2021, OutOfOffice was one of the first climate-neutral meeting and event locations in Germany. At that time, we offset our carbon footprint together with ClimatePartner by supporting global climate protection projects. Today, we are going one step further.

Since 2025, we have been offsetting our unavoidable emissions through our own sustainability project in Europe, directly in Italy, the home of our co-founders & CEOs Georg Sauter and Chiara Oliva.

The OlivaMi project: New roots for Salento

The Salento region in the very south of Italy has been severely affected by an ecological disaster: since 2019, an aggressive bacterium has destroyed over 21 million olive trees there – with enormous consequences for nature, agriculture, and the way of life of the local people.

OlivaMi was founded to address this very issue. The non-profit organization has set itself the goal of restoring the landscape to its former glory by planting new, resistant olive trees and actively involving local communities.

Our responsibility, our contribution

Together with OlivaMi, we are making not only a symbolic but also a measurable contribution to climate protection. For every ton of CO₂ emitted that we cannot avoid through internal measures, we plant a new tree in Salento with full transparency and long-term commitment.

For us, this is not just about CO₂ compensation, but about much more:

  • A regional symbol of resilience and reconstruction
  • A direct link between corporate responsibility and personal origins
  • A project that inspires others to make sustainability concrete and tangible

We are proud to have found a partner in OlivaMi who shares our values and, together with us, shows how sustainability can be not only thought of globally, but also lived regionally. To our olive grove in Salento.
